Mr. Brimhall
English classroom rules / expectations – generated by students Fall Semester 2003
Students must help maintain a positive environment in which to
learn. This means helping to ensure that
there are minimal disruptions, and that all students have a right to be able to
learn. Distraction that interferes with
the learning process will not be tolerated and will be dealt with immediately.
Everyone will show respect toward other people in the room. This includes respecting their property,
their opinion, and their dignity.
Property and equipment of the school district and Mr. B is included.
Students will work to cooperate and help each other out when they
can. IF there are conflicts, they will
be dealt with quickly and fairly.
Honesty is crucial to a good, positive classroom situation.
SPECIFIC GUIDELINES:
-
gum is ok as long as people don’t see it or
have to deal with it. Also, gum will be outlawed once I start finding it on the
floor and on desks
-
water (nothing
else) is ok when in sealable container – spills will be taken care of by people
involved immediately
-
no seating
charts unless necessary to separate someone
-
lectures will be
limited and short (when possible)
-
no profanity, reference to drugs, alcohol,
parties, etc…
-
c.d. players
o.k. as long a decibel level is low and they are only used when
given the o.k. by Mr. B.
I have been given the
opportunity for feedback, and I will follow the rules and procedures stated
above. I have read and discussed them,
and I understand all rules and expectations for room 206, as well as other settings
(on field trips, buses, etc…) I know that after a verbal warning and basic
adjustments are made, a phone call will be made home before this becomes an
administrative concern.
